One of the most common failures on all BMWs with the N54 (and early N55) engine is the high-pressure fuel pump, regularly referred to as the HPFP. When the HPFP starts to fail, it's common for the car to go into limp mode, and in severe cases can leave you stranded waiting for a tow. BMW has had multiple recalls for this HPFP on the N54.
An easy way to distinguish between the two is by the badge on the trunk. A 340i with the M Sport package, for instance, will just say ā€˜340i’; the M Performance version, the BMW M340i, though will actually say ā€˜M340i.’. And while M Sport is mostly about looks, M Performance adds genuine speed.

one of the selling points of the M235 was is comes standard with M-Sport brakes. However, I'm not sure what that really is. since the car is different than the 3 series, BMW most likely designed a total different brake system and called it M-Sport. they are no way a comparable brake system to Brembo. Performance. The pedal travel is very mushy.

Also, this car is so stable/fast with the 8 speed transmission, it is VERY easy to speed despite being a 4 cylinder. The HUD keeps us in check. On the autobahn and on the interstate, even with this 4 cylinder turbo it is very hard not to drive at 100mph. Just doesn't feel like it. 120 months. [report] [news] Tuesday 19th May 2015.
